Before we start project#1 cover letter, we did many activities in text book such as reading others examples, digging into the potential risks and benefits of certain jobs, which help us to clarify the different forms of occupation, learning more details about the job that we want to do.
Before I did project#1, I imagine cover letter as something that troublesome and complicated. Writing essay is not easy for me, not to mention that I also need to make people have interest on me through a letter. Therefore, I totally had no confidence that I can write a qualified cover letter. However, what is unexpected is I not only finish my cover letter fluently but also acquired many ideas and knowledge through this assignment.
First step to write this assignment was to visit job bank website. Although I am not really sure what kind of job I will do in future, I choose the job that meets my interest, that is “Resident English translator” in a factory. I learned many things through the process of writing this letter, and the most important one is there’s no need to completely introduce yourself in cover letter, instead, you need to target the details the employer provide and respond it carefully.
Tammy’s cover letter example teaches me about how to divide my letter into three or four major parts. Although the content in my cover letter cannot be as much as Tammy’s, it still can be well organized. The difficulty I encounter when I wrote this draft is I often use informal way to express my idea. But now I know the sentence like “I think…” or “Can’t wait to…” are not allow in cover letter.
